What is Nature Journaling

Nature journaling is the practice of noticing your natural surroundings and recording your observations with art and/or words.

Nature journaling provides an opportunity for us to slow down and notice what is around us in the natural world. As we harness curiosity, and grow in our discoveries, we foster a greater sense of wonder and gratitude in our souls.

You can nature journal!

You don’t have to be a trained artist, or an avid writer, or a naturalist. With just a little curiosity, paper and a pencil, you can start right now!

I’m Heather Winslow LeFebvre. My passion is to connect people to the joy and beauty of nature through nature journal education, writing, and art.

I am a fourth-generation artist, born into the beauty of rural Vermont, raised with a deep appreciation and love for nature, and passionate about sharing nature and art with others.

I currently live in the American Mid-west with my husband and family.

Meet Alaina

Alaina Falk and Heather have been friends for 25 years. When Alaina’s not loving on her husband and five kids, you might find her cooking up delicious food in the kitchen, working as a dental hygienist, or reading a good book.

Alaina brings to The Nature Journaler her talent for recipe development (including years of experience with historic and pioneer methods of cookery) and her organizational and relational skills.
